This week the focus of assignment 3 is to look at Twitter. I have spent quite a bit of time looking around twitter, reading tweets and trying to decide how I fit into this world. My school uses Twitter to update parents, students and the community about the happenings around the school and many members of the community are enjoying this use of a Web 2.0 tool in education. From a professional perspective I understand why this tool might be useful and fun.
From a personal standpoint I an hesitant to join this online community because I do not feel comfortable sharing my thoughts for anyone to read. Maybe this means that Twitter is not for me, but I committed to trying to Tweet, so I am stuck.
I will spend the remainder of this week trying to understand where I fit into this tool. I have already 'unfollowed' people who tweet too much, because I am not interested in what they are saying. I am a quiet person, I like pretty quiet people, and I do not talk to hear myself speak and as a result I cannot see myself Tweeting just to see my thoughts online.
