My first Web 2.0 tool to try out was voicethread. I was asked to present at the Calgary Science Network series this month, and having been inspired by this course and voicethread I thought it would be a great inquiry project for my students at the end of the Lights and Shadows unit of Grade 4 science.
I used personal photos I have to for the background and added voice to the presentation. Although I would like to spend more time playing with this program to see its capabilities, I think my first try would be fun and educational for my students. I could see them really engaging with this project, and as long as our wireless at school does not crash, it will be a fun project for the kids to engage with.
With this attempt I only used the free option on voicethread so I know my access was limited. When I have my students engage with the program we will purchase an account for them so that they can create more than 5 slides at a time and have additional resources available to them.
For my first attempt I thought it was rather fun. I can't wait to play with it some more.
